LieutenantPersonality: Ulysses doesn’t care what it takes to get the job done as long as it is done. He views spacenoids as lesser beings trying to disrupt the order of the world and that they all need to learn their place. He is quite violent, and is known for toying with his enemies for a while before eventually destroying them. With him being a war orphan he fights with a rage that few are prepared for. He earned his nickname by only accepting prisoners if they surrendered with unconditionally, and even then it was case by case.
Background: Ulysses was too young to fight in the One Year War, but he followed the campaigns as closely as was possible. When he read some of the reports about some of the battles, he was repulsed at first but quickly came to the conclusion that the ends definitely justified the means, and that if someone gets in the way of the mission, they are simply an obstacle to be removed.
When he joined the Earth Federation, the Titans had just been created, and he quickly transferred over. He met a group of people with the same mindset as his and together they made quite a name for themselves fighting side by side against anti-government forces.
But, one by one the group of like-minded individuals (they had been nicknamed the Striker squadron, as they all used RGM-79FP Strikers, even though they were outdated, they never failed a mission. But if someone fell behind, they stayed behind. And being of like minds, they never held it against each other.) grew smaller until eventually he was the only one that remained.
He quickly rose through the ranks. He even made a name for himself fighting against the AEUG. He fought during the AEUGs Operation Maelstrom, and even though they lost he still managed to take down a good number of the AEUGs suits.
When the Titans were disbanded, which Ulysses thought was completely stupid of the Earth Federation. After all, they did achieve peace, even if people didn’t like their methods, they did get results. Fortunately for Grant, the EF had a shortage of good pilots at the time so he was welcomed back with a pardon for his “crimes” from his time as a Titan pilot.
With his new suit, he operated under Captain Magnusson, who like himself was once a Titan. When the Battle of Torrington Base was over and the Captain and the rest of Grant’s team was called in, he was eager to fight some Zekes.
