Name: Sam Hayashibara
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 120 lbs
Nationality: Japanese-American
Appearance: Average looking guy, with glasses.
Personality: Sam is a reserved, quiet young man. He speaks English quite well, having an English mother and having spent most of his childhood in the United States. He's fascinated with Gunpla, like his father was before him. He frequents hobby shops and anime stores and considers himself an otaku.
Background: Sam was born in America, to a Japanese computer programmer and an American stewardess. Due to work-related reasons, his mom and dad didn't see each other much, and their relationship failed. His father went back to Japan but still continued to support Sam's education. Sam was also sent several boxes of Gunpla, which soon became his hobby.
When Sam turned 14, his father died. His mother allowed him to visit Japan, but once he got there, he was amazed by the culture of the Japanese people. When he visited his grandparents in Osaka, he found his late father's unfinished kits, among them a 1/144 Gundam Deathscythe. Having grown up watching only Gundam Wing in the states, he took liking to the said kit, and built it in memory of his father.
How this character got into Gunpla modeling: Sam's dad was an avid Gunpla enthusiast, providing Sam with many Gundam kits. In America, Gunpla modeling isn't as big as it is in Japan, so Sam had relatively few friends. When he moved to Japan however, it was different. He chose to stay and study there, building many kits and improving his skills as he grew up in Gundam country.
