Personality: Prefers to keep to himself, he only makes contact with others when it is expected of him or when he cannot avoid it. John tends to be obsessive over little details, as is characterized in his Gunpla models. He has a small collection of them, although the one his father gave him recently is his favorite thus far.
Background: He was born on the west coast of the United States to a businessman and a teacher. He grew up with his mother. His parents didn't divorce, his father just had a lot of business trips which his mother suspected of being something else but she didn't say anything lest she was wrong.
When his father went away on a trip when John was 12 John was an avid fan of the show After War: Gundam X. Despite it being subbed he still liked it. His father went away and came back with a gift for him, although when he came back the house was empty with a note saying that they were staying with her parents until he could figure out what was more important to him: work, or family. Needless to say, he chose family. he went to his boss and told him that his many business trips were driving his family apart and that he couldn't continue to work knowing it would destroy it. His boss, being a surprisingly reasonable person, who had just gone through a divorce with his wife because of the exact same thing, told him that he would reduce the number of trips significantly so as to allow more time with his family. They shook hands, the family stayed together, and all was peachy, the model long since forgotten.
John went to college at a local institute. During his third year there, his father showed up for his birthday and gave him his long-overdue model kit, the Gundam X. With stars in his eyes he set about building it. He was quite ecstatic about his gift. He had grown up wondering what it would be like to fight in a Gundam and when he heard of the GunplaBattle virtual reality game he was all-too eager to try it out and pilot the thing he had dreamed fighting in since he was 8.
How this character got into Gunpla modeling: He liked to watch the gundam shows, and one day when he saw an advertisement for Gundam models being sold he rushed to the store(with his mother) and bought his very first one. He had a hard time getting the pieces to fit together at first, until that is he read the instructions and rubbed the back of his head sheepishly and set about putting it together the right way. He has never made a mistake like that again in 10 years.
