Graham Mason fumed as he sat in the cockpit of his GM Cannon. Not only did he have to be transferred to Earth for the sake of replacing some foolish ground pounder who’d gone and died against the Zekes, but he was also placed into the chain of command of the bloody Army. And worse than that, the same “genius” Army officers who had needed the Air and Space Forces to save them at every turn during the last seven months had gone and placed him under the command of a god dammed sergeant. Graham muttered in frustration as he produced an old and battered American silver dollar and proceeded to flip it in his hand.
“This is insulting, having to take orders from a noncom just because I was born inside a colony cylinder. Going by looks alone I have both seniority and rank on this guy. Were it not for the dire need of experienced pilots down here I’d try for a transfer back to the Space Force. Even so, I really should try and convince the company commander to place me in charge. Would probably result in less people getting killed.”
Graham sighed deeply and placed the coin in his uniform pocket as the he picked up an unencrypted broadcast over the radio. Apparently some Zeke commander was busy holding a civilian hostage in exchange for a fight with the 24th Teams Gundam.
“Well isn’t that just great. Although it is quite unsurprising at this juncture to see the Zekes using hostages like that. A duel though? Either their commander is extremely unwise or it’s a trap waiting to be sprung. Either way, at least the kid is making the right call by going to help them out. Looks like that transfer app will have to wait another day. Time to go to work.”
The GM Cannon paused to steady itself for a moment as it stepped over a rise and Graham reminded himself for the twelfth time that day that he wasn’t in space. Sadly gravity was a universal constant here. After a second, the suit fell into a trailing escort formation behind the ground type GMs.
“This is Vulture, ready op. Let’s go save us some civvies.”

A second broadcast came in through the speakers, this time the man sounded more serious than ever with the tone of his voice.
"Come to the peak of Mount Matalingahan, tomorrow at high noon, alone. If I see your comrades, a bullet will be planted into this girl's head. Don't make a mistake that will cause you to regret your whole life... White Devil!" Boss Chief challenged the Gundam Ground Type and its pilot.
Back in the Hotel:
Boss Chief barged into the clinic and sat beside Clara. He looked into her eyes and saw the innocence and naivety of a clueless young lady. He regretted some of his earlier actions, such as killing that actor she called John Lloyd. He stroked the girl's hair like a father would do to his daughter.
"Sorry for the events earlier. You know, I can't risk losing this operation... this country is going to be very crucial to the victory of Zeon..." Chief said. "Tom, Aicelle, you will be in charge of Clara. Tomorrow, bring her to Mount Matalingahan..."

Sylvan saw the girl they were going to rescue from Osmond's Tear Of Laplace's DVD. When Kirkland mused his opinion and offered him a sound tactic.

He listened intently and then weighed his options, the Warrant Officer did have a point, He may appear naive if he believed that all men had honor or dignity within them, after all this is war. War is chaotic, but it is the very reason that it is war that the challenge seems more genuine, as the commander knew their location and could swarm them but he didn't. He could've eliminated them but instead asked for a challenge with a lone gundam with an easier condition.
Sylvan put a hand under his chin deep in thought, he weighed the heavy options and scenarios open. Until another announcement was made from the blasting speakers around the lush forest of palawan, that interrupted Sylvan's train of thought.

Sylvan quickly tapped Osmond's shoulder.
"Do we have a communication van? I need it now!" Sylvan said with great urgency.

"Errrr.... well sir, we have one but it's stranded at the beach. It's a Type-74 Hovertruck, and we'd have to backtrack 12km just to get it..." said Osmond. "Sand jammed its hover engines... sadly." Osmond added.
Osmond looked at the jeep Sylvan brought. "But wait sir, perhaps we can take the GM's communication devices and place them at the back of the truck? It would fit... not as good as a hovertruck's signal but still, it would be a moving thingamajig with some reception?"

Of course! How can one be stupid at times like these! One must be resourceful in Guerilla Warfare! It can work! Sylvan thought to himself surprised.
"Thanks Osmond I owe you one!" He said cheerfully with renewed vigor he went to some of the mechanics on break and asked that the broken GM's communication devices be compiled into a makeshift communication device like that of the hovertruck.
He helped with the assembly and the moving of the devices and looked back to Osmond.
"You watch her series yes? then you must recognize her voice, I need you with me later Osmond!"

Palawan Forests, three hours later (8:00 in the evening)
With major tweaking, Osmond finally got the radio to work. He sat down, sweating. Ferrell went to him and offered him a can of pork-and-beans. It was dinner-time, and a period of much needed rest.
Katoma was gorging on canned food as well, but he's at the cockpit of his Guntank. He did not want to mingle with these arrogant soldiers, having received multiple punches from them. In his mind, his men committed mutiny against him. He clutched his shotgun, which was nestled safely by his side. Oh, how he despised them.
Osmond finished his can and went back to the radio. He gestured for Ensign Cruz to come to him and see what he got.
"Look sir, I obtained the Zeke frequency, 198.876. It's so damn precise that by tuning the knob just a little bit, we'll lose it. So hard to find, damn. Now, how about let's give 'em a call?" suggested Osmond.

Aicelle wasted no time in fixing up her own Zaku II, getting ready for combat should it come. Although her physical exam had been halted, she was still eager to prove to the Boss how good of a pilot she is. Although now, she saw the darker side of her Lieutenant, and she's having doubts regarding his sanity. She pitied that girl Clara, though it was the actress' fault that Chief had to hurt her.
Below her, the boys were talking about Boss Chief's upcoming duel with the horned mobile suit. Everyone was fired up, for in their minds they know the Chief would win. His Gouf was no slouch, and its impressive weaponry seemed more than any Feddie suit could handle.
Picking up her cell phone, she texted Officer Tom. This was her message:
"Hey Tom, I need somebody to talk with. Can we meet at the old concrete bench behind the hotel? I got a few drinks if you need some...

It was dinner time and the men were eating their rations since most of their fine supply either got destroyed in the mine attack or had to be left behind with the hover truck 12 kilometers back. He saw the men settle with just pork and beans.
He sighed, if they were to fight they should eat ample food at least. but they looked pitiful, so he decided to hunt a wild pig before it was too dark to hunt one.
After a handful of minutes, Sylvan came back with a dead pig on his back tied up he dropped it in front of the surprised soldiers.
"Let's go eat something decent boys!" the men cheered for the pig he brought, in the nick of time, Osmond called to Sylvan and he excused himself from the rest of the boys and took his pork and bean share.

"Loud and clear," said the voice on the other side of the radio. It was Boss Chief, and he had been waiting for them to respond. Fortunately they found a way to do so.
"My name is Lt. Guerrero of the Aesir Wolves. What do you want, Feddie?" he replied. The Zeon soldiers fell silent as they listened intently to Boss Chief and the mysterious person on the other line.

Sylvan had felt that cold sweat again. This man was different in many ways he could define. He gulped and took a light breath.
"I'm glad we got the right frequency Lt. Guerrero...I'm Ensign Raven of the 24th MS division, I'm sorry i could not give you my real name, because well my family was and still is hounded by Zeon"
Sylvan looked to Osmond and gave him a silent signal to listen.
"My men are worried that this may be a trap, Our duel that is. You control this forest and they fear for the Gundam and not me" He chuckled. "Kidding aside good sir, how do we know that my belief in you honoring the duel is as good as i say to my men? Can we get to talk to Clara? An insurance if you will..."
Sylvan listened after the silence that followed, Is Clara even still alive? or will they go ask some impostor to go talk to them. If they did, he got Osmond to do some voice matches.

Boss Chief smiled, knowing that the men he was dealing with were not idiots. However, he wanted to show them that he could be trusted. He had a camera brought in, as well as Clara who was tied to a chair.
"You want more proof? Turn off your Minovsky particles and I will send you a video..." Chief said. He began a broadcast to the forest a footage of his face, which kinda looks like Mickey Rourke (Iron Man 2 villain)
"Turn your frequency to 189.223, you got mobile suits right? You'll pick this up on your cockpit screens..." Chief said to the Feddies. There he showed clear footage of Clara tied to a chair, mouth all taped up, wearing nothing but her underwear. Boss Chief walked closer to her as the camera filmed them, then slowly cut off one of her bra straps. "Whoopsss... my bad... my knife was, stickin' out," he said. "Is this the evidence you need?"

Daniel was eating his pork n, beans next to his GM, trying to be on guard, then Ensign Sylvan Cruz walked over and gave him a direct order to go scavenging in the forest for food (preferably a pig). He understood his orders and retrieved his combat knife, flashlight, and pistol (just in case of a surprise attack) from the cockpit of his GM, then he went running blindly into the woods, having little idea on how to track animals.
He'd been wondering the forest for an hour now and still nothing (how Sylvan found a pig so quickly, and carried it by himself back to camp was beyond him), until he ran into a large hill with a burrow underneath of it. He shined his flashlight into the burrow to find a sleeping boar inside, until the flashlight woke it up, and it did not look to happy to see him. The angry boar took a mad charge at Kirkland (who was kneeling) and got hit in the head; the boar took another charge at the interloper, but he rolled to the side before it could hit. This time, with the next charge, Daniel caught the wild animal in a headlock, took out his knife and planted it in the boar's skull. It collapsed instantly and the now accomplished hunter gave out a sigh of relief.
15 minutes later, he dragged the animal's carcass all the way back to the campsite and dropped it in front of the fire. "H...Here's your...pig sir." Daniel said wearily and without another word, he staggered his way back to his GM and sat down(to recover from his concussion).

Sylvan quickly took note of the frequency and wrote it in a large pad of paper and showed it to Osmond and directed him to take a look in his gm, while he awaited his next order. While Sylvan sprinted to the Ground type Gundam's cockpit and his eyes widened at what he saw.

Sylvan gritted his teeth and slammed his fist onto the side screen of the gundam. He knew how terrorists worked, and one way was taught to everyone that one should not aggravate terrorists, from his doubt with the Lt.'s challenge it seemed that the Lt. became aggravated.
Damn it! I knew i should've put my words into something better!
He dropped out the cockpit and went to where Osmond's GM was.
"Don't tell the men about this, it would only fuel their anger...." He said calmly but his face said other wise.
He went back to the jeep, and picked up the mike.
"That's more than enough Lt. you may now let her go back to her sleeping quarters, I'm sorry to have doubt you and may caused you insult..."

But if you lose, then all of you Feddies should get out of this country and never return..." warned Boss Chief. The video transmission was suddenly cut off.
Boss Chief then took Clara to his room. He threw her to the bed and he proceeded to undress as well. He climbed on top of her and began to sniff her scent... she was helpless. And then when she looked into her eyes, he remembered something.
He remembered his wife and 16 year old daughter getting killed in a car crash seven years ago. He sees his daughter in Clara's eyes. Feeling ashamed of himself, Boss Chief dragged Clara out of his room. He began to cry, missing his deceased family.
"Forgive me for what I've done, and what I've become... but I must see this to the end. I am a ZEON SOLDIER!" he whispered to himself.

Sylvan waited for the transmission to be cut off before letting go of the mike. The moment it got cut off he stared into nothingness for a few seconds, Horrible thoughts plagued his mind, things that could happen to Clara because of him doubting the Lieutenant's integrity and honor of challenge. He started to blame himself and could only pray that she was safe.
Damn it...Of all things to happen... Sylvan put a hand to his face and pulled it down as if wiping his face. He alighted from the jeep, and walked in circles, hands on waist away from his men.
"I must...I must...honor that challenge, no matter what I must fight this man and beat him, no matter what the odds..."
He looked up at the Night sky, it had no stars only heavy clouds. He thought it ominous. but kept his thoughts to himself.

Ensign Katoma Mundara was tired of this little game of cops and robbers. He stood out of the Guntank’s cockpit, and waved to everyone. “How long are you guys going to be jacking off at that teen actress? I’m going on patrol for a while, to cool my head off. Meanwhile, you pricks can circle-jerk each other and maybe you can screw each other’s asses later on? Sheesh! Immature bastards!” said Katoma.
Katoma started up the Guntank’s engines and throttled forward, going north for a patrol. He circled the area around, checking for enemies. When he was quite a few hundred meters away from the others, a thought crossed his mind: what if he didn’t come back? Why, they had no use for him. Even his juniors socked him in the fucking face. He should’ve reported this to his superiors as a mutiny, but he decided that he won’t. He’d just be the hero that captured the mad Zeke leader.
The Guntank strayed on further north, heading towards the capital city Puerto Princessa on his own. He hoped that his team mates won’t notice and follow him; after all, to him they were just dead weights.
“I’m going to attack the Zeon hideout all by myself!” said Katoma, with a desperate smile cracking his butt-ugly face. The Guntank wobbled further and further, crossing streams and swamps, inching closer and closer to the city. “I don’t care if that actress dies all I want is to be recognized as a good leader!” he yelled at the dark, gloomy jungle that surrounded him.

Tom's wound had healed well enough that he was released. He was putting on his uniform when he got a text message from Aicelle. Reading it, he sighed and walked out of the clinic after reattaching his firearm to his side.
Typing a message in reply, he says:
"Sure, it would be my pleasure.

Walking out of the building he proceeded to the designated point. He was glad he was given the okay to be released, otherwise he would have gone mad what with everything going on.
Finding the bench in question, he sat down and waited for Aicelle to show. He might be the Vanguard, but that doesn't mean he doesn't understand rewards of waiting.

Aicelle came out carrying two flasks of whisky. She sat near Tom and placed the bottles between them. She let out a heavy sigh. "Wheeeew! It's not every night we get a break from training like this. Still, we're lucky the training didn't push through... and I've never been so happy to be back in my clothes. So, what do you think, we're going to be Aesir Wolves now?" she asked her comrade.

"That's a safe way of putting it..." said Aicelle, noticing how Tom always plays it safe with the things he does or the words he speaks. But Aicelle was a more outspoken person, she did not really approve of Boss Chief's methods of torture.
"Something must be bothering the Boss," Aicelle added. "The boys said he suddenly changed when he found out that one of the Feddie suits was the "White Devil"... seriously, do you believe that? If so, then the Trojan Horse should be ear by, yet there are no sightings of it."

"If it really is nearby, then we're gonna have hell to pay. The Zabi's have declared war on the E.F.F. and that suit in particular. If the Lt. finds it, he won't let it get away. And in the case of Federation treachery they don't hold up their end of the bargain, we will be ready. They underestimated us when they entered this war and the price for their arrogance is quickly rising."
He sighed, this was not how he wanted to spend his first day on the ground. It was just one thing after another. But hey, he wasn't known as the Vanguard for nothing and he would do his part.

Clara had been wandering around the compound after Boss Chief tried to rape her. She went back to her room where her assistants were, but they were all mourning the body of her co-actor. They've wrapped him in a white cloth and they were crying and wailing since afternoon. She decided it would be best to leave them alone, for after all, it was her fault that John Lloyd got killed.
Everywhere she went, guards were following her with their gazes, as if they'd never let her leave the compound alive. Tomorrow, she was going to be placed on the mountain to witness the duel of Boss Chief and the Gundam. Wasn't the best place to be, but it's not like she had a choice. She dropped down to her knees at the lobby, gazing at the window outside.
The sky, which was cloudy earlier, was now gleaming with stars. These stars seemed to give her hope. She crawled closer to the glass pane, touched it and looked at the dark forest.
"I don't think I'll be rescued... what am I to the Federation? I'm just a helpless pop idol with no worth... I'm pretty sure that man is just using me to trap those Feds. Nobody has to die because of me, not again... no, I don't want to... It.... it's just too much for me to bear.... please.... somebody tell me this isn't real. Tell me it's ... everything's... just a very bad dream!" she cried. Her tears sparkled like diamonds, shattering on the floor as they fell down her cheeks.
"I just want to go home... to a place far away from war...."

Shun starts to think to himself "The only problem I see is one of the 24th's pilots.....if stories and rumors are correct then most likely he'll do something stupid that will risk his entire team and risk botching a mission. But in this case..... I've got a bad feeling about this A half-hour no passed. Sir, I do believe we are close enough to send a message to the 24th now. Very well, send out the message Roger! the intel officer starts to tweak his radio while battling minosky particles density. 24th mobile squad do you read me? 24th squad if you can hear me this is the 56th mobile suit corp.
