Chapter 2: The Cost of Defeat - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Chapter 2: The Cost of Defeat    Chapter 2: The Cost of Defeat - Page 2 EmptyFri Jun 10, 2011 3:51 am

Mantalingahan peak, 11:12 AM

Aicelle's Zaku stood in front of the warship's doors, waiting to be deployed. Soon she was given the go signal to parachute down. Although she was nervous, she tried to restrain her dread. She closed her eyes as her Zaku leapt out of the plane, deployed its parachute. Soon, she felt a calm feeling and reached the ground safely.

She was about to move to the bunch of mango trees when she heard more noise in the sky. Three planes began to dump out living people! "No! What the... Lieutenant Guerrero what are you doing!?" To her horror the people rained like stones, hitting the ground at a violent pace.

"Commander... this is just too cruel..." she told the Boss. One of the people, a woman, fell on her Zaku's head, and slid off, passing in front of the camera eye. Aicelle saw the woman's cracked skull as the corpse fell to the foot of her Zaku. It was for her, unbelievable. A man of Boss Chief's reputation was to be feared, but this was just too much. But, orders were orders. As a mere Warrant Officer, she could only keep her mouth mum on these atrocities. She just reassured herself that the Feddies were much more evil than the Chief could ever be. Reluctantly, she continued her march to the shade of trees.

"Uh... Aicelle Quinn, taking position," she announced to the Zeon team, her knees shaking as a result of the Chief's inhumane actions. To make things worse, the sight of Clara tied to a MS-sized flagpole, and rigged with bombs keep haunting her. "God please let this be over soon... with no more casualties if possible..." she steadfastly prayed.

11:20 AM Mount Matalingahan

As soon as the carrier doors opened, Officer Alexander leapt from the ramp in his Zaku, not wasting time with a parachute he braced himself for a rough landing and hit the mountainside feet first. Once the mobile suit had stabilized Tom started his way down the mountain.

Just when he was about to hit the base his sensor picked up something falling from up above. Having jumped before looking around he was unaware of the live dropping going on above. Reaching out his mech's hand he caught the person before they hit the ground. It was a little girl. opening up the cockpit's hatch, he drew the child inside and closed it back up.

While holding her he noticed she had a mild concussion and so he looked around for the medical kit he had stored inside the cockpit and took out some medical tape and wrapped the girl's head up after disinfecting it. Pulling out the emergency blanket he placed it on the floor behind his seat and laid the girl on it, he used his second blanket as a pillow.

Once she was situated he continued on his way and reached the mountain's base. he pulled out his bazooka and kept his Heat Hawk at the ready. He wasn't going to let any Feddies interfere with the Lt.'s duel if he could help it.

Turning on his radio he commed Boss and said, "I am in position, sir. Ready to take out any unwanted interlopers."

Tom's Zaku was currently in a position that it had a clear view of the jungle at the mountain's base. And yet despite their was a curious rock formation that just happened to be big enough to hide him should he spot trouble.

High noon was fast approaching. Up on the flag, Clara remained silent as she was bound to the pole. Her eyes have that strange, blank stare, due to trauma. Everything happened so fast. Only yesterday, she was about to wrap up the taping for her new soap opera. Now, here she is, a bait for the Federation team.

The heat of the midday sun was causing her to lose even more consciousness. Life was fading in her eyes. Clara, once a very lively girl, has lost her mind. Nothing matters to her now. Not even her impending death. All she ever worked for, all of her dreams... gone. She could care less if the bombs went boom. Her life is over, as far as she is concerned.

Matalinghan Peak, Palawan

Rap was laughing his ass out loud when he saw the Chief's order to drop the innocent civilains to their fakking deaths. "Hakhakhakhak! That serves you right you fakking apes! His Z'Gok hid under a deep tranch in the ground, waiting for the Feddies to come by. Anyone who fakking comes near him, he'll knock them out of their fakking shells.

Graham stood and watched Cruz converse with his commander Sergeant Anata. As they finished a thin smile could be seen on Graham’s face. He also walked towards the tent entrance, musing as he went.

“Well, Ensign Cruz seems to have a good head on his shoulders so far. Even if I don’t necessarily agree with the conclusions he reached, a concern for his men is one of the hallmarks of a good officer. Here’s hoping he doesn’t waste that potential by getting himself killed.”

Pausing at the entrance for a moment, Graham turned back to Cruz, having decided to give one piece of advice.

“You’ve got potential Ensign, being concerned with the wellbeing of your unit is an excellent thing for an officer. Just don’t make the mistake of forgetting that you’re part of the unit as well. Best of luck mate, for all I know you just might need it.”

With that, Graham stepped outside of the tent. Just in time to see a preposterously large Zeon flag being unfurled by the enemy commander’s Gouf. Graham’s expression changed to a condescending smirk.

“Well, I must say that this man seems to have a flair for the unnecessarily dramatic if nothing else.”

It was just as he finished that thought that bodies began raining from the Gaw. His mouth opened slightly as his fists clenched tightly .

“Damn you Zekes! And you wonder why the other colonies wouldn’t support you, you genocidal bastards!”

Turning around, Graham yelled back at the command tent. If someone had looked closely enough, they could have seen a tear fly from his face as he turned around

“Hey Cruz, get out here! We’ve got a big bloody problem on our hands.”

With that, Graham began to run towards his GM. Regardless of the situation, he was sure that the MS would be needed soon. Jumping into the suit, he keyed his radio into the team communication frequency, his voice wavering slightly from what was now anger.

“This is Vulture, just give the word Cruz. I’m behind whatever decision you take, just kill that Gouf.”

Anything new? Sir, we got a signal from one of our trip locators that we placed. Seems like the Zekes are here! Great....this isn't good we still need time.... What should we do? What we've always been doing! Prepare for combat! Roger!

Shun ran outside to the transports. Mechanics!! Hurry and unload the the 24th's GMs and prepare the beam rifles and get that sniper unit ready The mechanics replied, YES SIR!!

Shun's intel officer came running towards him. Sir!! you better take a look at what our video tracker took.

Alright let me take a look Here you go sir. Shun watched the video of Zeon dropping civilians out of a plane. What The-!!!.....This...is too horrible...even in war time!! Shun clenched his fist. They....will pay dearly for this!! And I hope that these damn Zekes put up a better fight than their comrades in Europe Shun quickly turned to his intel officer. I want you to begin researching the terrain and enemy positions immediately! Sir! replied the intel officer

With haste. Shun ran towards his GM ground type and began to activate the Mobile suit...Alright team. Stay focus and prepare. We don't move out until the 24th's commander gives the go. Is that clear?! Pilots respond, Yes sir!!
